STRUM, Wis.— An Osseo man on foot was struck by a passing vehicle and injured on the side of the road. Deputies said that Jody Gehrke, 46, had pulled off Highway 10 to pick up a recycling container that fallen out of his truck. He was air-lifted 25 miles to an Eau Claire hospital. The other driver, Ashley Heath, 26, of Fairchild, was not hurt. Also unhurt was an 11-year-old child in Gehrke’s vehicle and a 1-year-old in Heath’s vehicle. The accident was about 12:30 p.m. two miles west of Strum.
