LITTLE FALLS, Minn. – First-responders rescued a Little Falls woman whose kayak had overturned on the Mississippi River. Heidi Schmit, 51, was stranded between ice floes. She was transported to the Little Falls hospital, then transferred to the St. Cloud Hospital. The accident was 35 miles downriver from Little Falls about 4 p.m.
