CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Two people were shot to death – a man and a woman – in a downtown nightclub about 1:30 a.m. Ten other people were wounded. One of them was hospitalized in critical condition. Police Chief Wayne Jerman said that two men fired more than a dozen shots inside the Taboo Nightclub. It so happened, Jeman said, that police were outside the club because of an earlier incident. The gunmen likely escaped in the confusion of 100 to 150 clubbers evacuating the club, Jerman said. The names of the man and woman who died were not released immediately.
