WINONA, Minn. – For Winona eighth-grade athlete Devin Filzen it was a ride to remember. He arrived at school aboard a Fire Department ladder truck with a police escort after winning the state boys wheelchair shot put championship. Also aboard were the Winhawk high school softball team, which also went to state tournaments. Filzen won not only the shot put title but was also second in the boys wheelchair 200-meter dash at 36.79 second, second in the 800-meter race, and third in the 100-meter dash.
