ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Rochester college football player, already accused of a violent attack on a rival team’s coach, was arrested after pulling a gun in a fight on South Broadway. After the latest arrest, earlier Friday morning, Shan Stephen Fiorenza, 21, was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and fleeing police. Judge Mark Wernick set bond at $50,000 and ordered Fiorenza to stay out of bars and away from drugs and guns and not to leave the state. Fiorenza’s home is listed as Las Vegas, Nevada, in records at Rochester Technical and Community College.

Police report: Fiorenza pulled a Glock 23 Gen .40 handgun from his waistband and aimed at group involved in a shouting match at Broadway Avenue South and Third Street Southeast. Police ordered Fiorenza to raise his hands. He put the gun back on his waistband and ran. A bystander tripped him, he fell, and the gun discharged. The bullet hit no one.
