NORTHFIELD, Minn. – A motorist critically injured in what police describe as a road-rage encounter died at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Larry Myers, 79, of Faribault, was injured June 27 en route to a dialysis appointment in Northfield. Police said. Myers suffered a significant brain injury. Myers’ injuries left him unable to breathe on his own and unable to tolerate further dialysis treatments he needed daily. He was removed from life support Wednesday evening. The road-rage incident was three miles southeast of Northfield. Police quoted witnesses that a pickup truck passed Myers and then  struck Myers while moving back into the lane, The pickup driver got out, approached Myers’ vehicle, and started punching Myers in the face, according to the witnesses. Nobody saw Myers strike back, police said. Myers was rushed to the Northfield hospital with serious facial injuries, then transferred to Hennepin.
