WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University women’s volleyball team ranked 15th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association coaches’ pre-season poll. The Warriors were awarded 499 points. Tampa led with 1,158. Among Northern Sun conference teams:
> Concordia of St. Paul (6th), 848 points.
> Winona State (15th), 499.
> Wayne State of Nebraska (17th), 300.
> Southwest Minnesota State (22nd), 191.
Winona State, under coach Joe Getzin, went 28-5 overall and 17-3 in the conference last season and made the NCAA Division II p[lay-0offs. The Warriors open their new season August 26 and 27 at the Concordia of St. Paul Invitational.
