GOOD THUNDER, Minn. – The mayor of Good Thunder, Robert J. Anderson, was arrested after the state auditor’s office concluded that he awarded a city contract to himself for sidewalk repairs. Anderson, who owns a trucking company, was guilty of financial conflicts of interest for a 2021 city purchase from his own business without city council approval, according to the criminal complaint. Blue Earth County deputies made the arrest at Anderson’s home on a warrant and seized documents. Anderson, 66, was jailed in Mankato. The charges: One count if embezzlement, two theft-related counts, and three counts of violating the public trust.
