ST. PAUL, Minn. – The chancellor of the Minnesota State higher-ed system, Devinder Malhotra, told system trustees that he plans to retire in August when his contract expires. Malhotra has been chancellor six years. During his term, he said, the system of seven universities and 26 colleges has strengthened a systemwide identity as MinnState. Formerly it was MnSCU. Earlier Malhotra ran the system’s Metropolitan and St. Cloud state universities. In Winona both Winona State and State Southeast are part of MinnState.
