PORTLAND, Maine – The secretary of state, Democrat Shenna Bellows removed former President Donald Trump from Maine’s presidential primary election ballot. Bellows said that Trump could had disqualified himself for his role in the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. She noted tyat the U.S. Constitution bans candidates who have “engaged in insurrection.” The issue appears headed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Maine is the fourth state to weigh in on the issue:
