Freddie’s Fishing Pier. Home port for the boat. Apparently stolen over the weekend, perhaps as late as Monday evening,
Only access to pier is by boat
DRESBACH, Minn. — Deputies recovered a small pleasure boat floating without anyone aboard in the Mississippi River just below the Lock and Dam 7 gates. This was about 10 p.m. The boat appeared to have been tampered with. A fork was jammed into the ignition, deputies said. As best as deputies could determine, the thief then abandoned the boat. The boat, it turned out, was from Freddie’s floating pier on the Wisconsin side. For years Cap’n Tom has ferried customers to the pier from the Interstate 90 rest area on the Minnesota side for fishing, sandwiches and snacks on the pier. The boat, a 16-foot Polar Craft with a 40-horsepower Honda engine, had been tied up and secured three days earlier.

Generations of memories. About bjg ones that didn’t get away.
