In 1990 Rieple founded Cadillac Pawn & Jewelry at 1538 E Lake St.,in a low-income section of south Minneapolis in 1990. The glass front stand-alone structure is owned Third Financial Corporation with John Rieple as the registered agent. Among Cadillac’s features were custom-designed jewelry using yellow, white or rose gold with-diamond setting techniques. The shop advertised itself for cutting edge of urban fashion jewelry that appealed to the hip-hop crowd.
