MADISON, Wis. – Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, who is running for the U.S. Senate, has raised $1 million in the first 10 weeks after launching his campaign. The sum was more from donations than any candidate in the race for the Democratic nomination for Republican Ron Johnson’s Senate seat. A wealthy rival, Sarah Godlewski, however, has put $1 million of her own money into her campaign. Johnson has not announced his intentions for a third term. Other Democratic candidates in the August 9 primary include well-heeled Milwaukee Bucks executive Alex Lasry.
