AURELIUS, N.Y. – The BCS factory will close by the end of year with its 200 employees being offered jobs in other plants in Winona, Minnesota; Livonia, Michigan; and Reynosa, Mexico. For workers who don’t want to move, severance packages are being negotiated the International Chemical Workers Union, said Andy Dale, the company’s vice president and general manager for the Americas. Dale said that BCS considered “generous packages” from the union and state and local New York taxing authorities but that a viable solution could not be found. Ultimately, he said, the global automotive market just couldn’t sustain the Aurelius operation.
