LACROSSE, Wis. – President Bident told a LaCrosse audience that his American Jobs Plan, which is moving through Congress, will directly benefit rural and working-class Americans. Even the compromised version hammered iut last week with Congressional leaders will help Americans in all walks of life, he said. Biden spoke in a municipal garage on Isle de Plume, distinctly a blue-collar setting, He was shown one of the city’s new hybrid-electric buses. Biden said his jobs plan will provide thousands of charging stations for electric cars in urban as well as rural areas. He likened charging stations io the gas station boom in the early 1900s for the first automobiles with internal combustion engines. Biden applauded a partnership between the utility company Xcel and the city to build infrastructure to support and charge the new electric LaCrosse buses. Referring to his Jobs Plan, Biden said: “This bipartisan deal. It’s going to help advance that effort.”
