ST. CHARLES, Minn. — Does this western Winona County community need another fast-food shop? Courtesy Corp. of LaCrosse thinks so. The company has broken ground for its 65th drive-through and sit-down restaurant, this at the Love’s truck stop off Interstate 90. Target for grand opening: August. Hiring has begun at $13 an hour. St. Charles, population 3,700, already has a Subway, an A&W, and a Cabin Coffee. not to mention Genesis on U.S. 14 and the downtown fixture Del’s. And already at Love’s is a Hardee’s for I-90 travelers and Amish Ovens across the interstate.
