LACROSSE, Wis. – A Rochester man whose picture was posted online by police after a bar incident has turned himself in. Joey Burnham, 65, agreed to be released on personal recognizance while police assess what to do. Burnham, 65, is accused of striking a bartender several times at the Bodega Brew Pub downtown on December 26. The issue was face masks. The bartender told police that two men came into the bar without masks. They were told the rules: Mask up except when seated and eating or drinking. The men initially complied, the bartender said, but one of them later came back to the bar maskless . The bartender said he again asked the man to wear a mask and in response the man berated him with homophobic slurs and beat at him. A bouncer escorted both men out.
