MADISON, Wis. – The State Building Commission deadlocked 4-4 along party lines on Governor Tony Evers’ proposed $2.4 billion budget for state building projects. The deadlock moves the budget to the Republican-controlled State Senate, which is unfriendly to Evers, a Democrat. Among projects at risk is the $83 million second phase of the Prairie Springs Science Center at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. The science center would replace the 54-year-old Cowley Hall.
