MINNEAPOLIS – A St. Cloud man, self-proclaimed as belonging to the anti-government extremist Boogaloo Boys movement, pleaded guilty to possessing a machine gun. Michael Dahlager, 27, was preparing to take the weapon to a rally at the state Capitol on January17, an informant told the FBI. Court documents say that Dahlager admitted that he possessed two devices that transform a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic weapon. He was ordered to remain in federal custody pending sentencing. According to the informant, Dahlberg traveled from St. Cloud to St. Paul in December for a rally by Donald Trump supporters and surveilled the Capitol. That was a month in advance of the Bugaloo plans for January event. He scouted police sniper sites and mapped streets blocked by police. Dahlager was quoted in the nine-page criminal complaint that he wanted to commit “suicide by cop” at the January rally and would not wear a bulletproof vest. He said he would “go hunt some pig” and “go out fighting.” Eventually the Bugaloos scratched their plans for the January rally because they suspected having been been compromised.
