CALEDONIA, Minn. – A man found burned to death in his parked car in a state park last week almost certainly was Rodney Duane Jacobs, 69, of Caledonia. There has been no DNA confirmation so far, but, said Sheriff Mark Inglett, family members identified remnants of personal items as belonging to Jacobs. Also, the car, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, was linked to Jacobs. The sheriff said a surveillance camera at Beaver Creek Valley State Park saw the car entering the the park about 6:40 p.m., Tuesday, January 4. The car, with the human remains inside, was found the next morning. The sheriff said there is no evidence involving a second person. He ruled out homicide as a possibility.
