WINONA, Minn. – The Ready Set School project has run short of backpacks for K-12 students to start the school year. The project director, Mani Olson, expects 300 stressed families to reach out for school supplies; plastic pocket folders, notebooks, pencils, pencil box, pens large erasers, scissors, markers, colored pencils, glue, eraser caps, binders, earbuds or headphones, facial tissues and paper towels. Drop-off barrels: The Exchange Building at 51 East Fourth Street, or Steak Shop Catering at 301 E.ast Mark Street. “Donors will receive a free bowl or cone of ic e cream,” Olson said.
