MINNEAPOLIS – Elevated charges were filed against a suburban \Orono man for an automobile crash that killed two young men, including the son of the University of Minnesota hockey coach Bob Motzko. James Blue, 51, who was driving, was charged originally two counts of criminal vehicular operation. The new charge: Third-degree murder. The criminal complaint alleges that Blue’s blood-alcohol concentration exceeded 0.20% — 2-1/2 times the legal max. The complaint also alleges that he was driving his Bentley faster than 90 mph. The accident was about 11:30 p.m. on July 24 after a night of partying in the Lake Minnetonka neighborhood. The vehicle crashed into a grove of trees. Killed were passengers Sam Schuneman, 20, and Mack Motzko, 24.
