STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – A toddler wandered off from his yard into a nearby retention pond and nearly drowned. The boy’s father and babysitter found the boy and immediately began CPR until first responders \arrived. The boy was rushed 12 miles to a Rochester hospital and placed in a medically induced coma. The family said that the boy appeared to be doing well and that his organs were functioning. It was believed the boy was in the water about five minutes, said Sheriff’s Captain Scott Behrns. The babysitter said she looked away for just a moment and when she looked back, the boy was gone. The incident happened in the 700 block of Willow Green Court Northeast.
