WINONA, Minn. – A controlled burn, in the 1500 block at the swampy far east of East Sanborn, got into trees that weren’t intended to be burned. Firefighters, who were called about 9 p.m., considered cutting the trree but decided that it was too dark Also, because of the damp conditions, it was decided that the fire posed little risk of spreading. Police were asked to keep an eye on the fire throughout the night.
