BANGOR, Wis. – A Waseca, Minnesota, man, his pockets bulging cash, was arrested after a speeding stop near Bangor. Stopped was Reginald Ronald Gales, 31. The State Patrol trooper who made the stop quoted Gales that the money was “just five thousand,” only half of which was his. Gales denied there were any drugs in the vehicle and said that he and his family were returning to Minnesota from Chicago. There was a woman and two children in the vehicle. The trooper noticed that molding on the vehicle was loose, which seemed odd on a 2020 vehicle. Under the molding was a tied-off white sock with three plastic bags with 85.3 grams of cocaine, police said. Police also found a marijuana stash and an additional $4,400 in cash.
Cell call
After Gales was arrested, police said he placed a cell phone call during which he said: “We’re getting locked up in Wisconsin.” When the caller asked why, he responded, “Some stuff.”
Manner
Gales was extremely nervous when stopped, police said. Officers reported that Gales’ hands were shaking, his speech trembled, and he was taking rapid, short breaths.
