WINONA, Minn. — In a crackdown on violations of COVID limits on the size of gatherings, police busted a party of 50 revelers a stone’s throw from Winona State University. Aaron Christian Smith, 18, of Rollingstone, and Dylan Thomas Waldera, 18, of Winona were cited for a loud party and noisy gathering. The citations were issued about 12:15 a.m. for a party in the 600 block of Lafayette Street. How loud was the party? Police said they could hear noise two blocks away. Anyone wearing face masks? Some were, others not, police said.
