ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $5.5 million contract to Newt Marine e of Dubuque, Iowa, for the second stage of a dredging and habitat restoration project downriver Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The project will complete floodplain forest features on the northern end of McGregor Lake on the Mississippi River and improve backwater fisheries north of the Highway 18 bridge. Completion is expected in 2025.
