ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Legislature convenes for its first 2021 session Tuesday. It won’t be the same as a year ago. The Capitol is surrounded by riot fencing as a protective measure. The House will meet with Zoom because of the pandemic. The Senate will try a hybrid approach—online and in-Capitol. It’s a new way of doing the public’s business. Most face-to-face work will be replaced with phone calls, emails and Zooms. Constituent interaction? Won’t be what used to be. How long? Depends on the CoVid.
