ALBERT LEA, Minn. – The central water tower in Albert Lea, a lakefront landmark, will begin coming down Monday because of deterioration. The project contractor, U.S. SiteWork Inc. from Elk River, is cutting the 1 million-gallon structure into manageable pieces and lowering them to the ground with a crane. A new tower will be built in the site.
