ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – The burglary trial of State Senator Nicole Mitchell, has been scheduled for late January, which is after the start of the 2025 legislative session. This means that she will be already seated as part of the 34-33 Democratic majority in the Senate by the trial date. Mitchell is in her first term from the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury. She is accused of breaking into her stepmother’s home in Alexandria to take items belonging to her late father.
