EYOTA, Minn. – An Eyota farmer was injured seriously when his tractor was struck by a truck towing a semi-trailer on State Highway 42 between Eyota and Viola. Charles Jay Sachs, 25, was airlifted 14 miles to a Rochester hospital. The accident was about 8:20 p.m., just after sunset, at Silver Creek Road. The driver of the truck, a Peterbilt semi, Bruce Alan Byer, 63, of Noble, Oklahoma, was unhurt. Both vehicles were southbound toward Eyota.
