WINONA, Minn. – The young police K-9 Doc with the Winona sheriff’s office has a wardrobe now: A bullet-proof vest. The vest, stylish tan and emblazoned in yellow with “Sheriff K-9,” was donated by the charitable group Vested Interest. In recognition of K-9s’ dangerous work, the organization provides vests nationwide —  4,400 to date. Doc completed K9 certification training in May.
