VIOLA, Wis. – A LaFarge man was knocked unconscious when his vehicle missed a corner, hit the curb, struck a power pole and overturned twice. Matthew Buckta, 33, was conscious when police arrived but trapped. He had to be cut out of the vehicle. He was taken to the Vernon hospital. The accident was on Highway 56 at Banker Park near West Commercial and Central streets. Buckta was not wearing a seatbelt, a deputy said. His airbag somehow did not deploy. Alcohol appeared a factor, the deputy said.

Landed on three wheels. Driver injured but survived.
