SOLDIERS GROVE, Wis. – The independent craft brewery Driftless, which distributes mostly in southern Wisconsin, was named one of the state’s 20 favorite breweries in an online reader survey by Travel Wisconsin magazine. Cynthia Olmstead, the brewery’s operations director, credited Driftless’ reputation to using 80% local and regional Wisconsin farmers. The brewery was founded in 2013 on the Kickapoo River in Solders Grove, population 600. The beer’s namesake is the driftless geology of southwest Wisconsin and nearby Minnesota and Iowa.
