FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. – A Fountain City man, William A. Daubs, 32, was killed when his vehicle wandered off the highway and overturned upstream from of the Army Corps of Engineers boatyard. The accident happened about 10:15 p.m. Deputies said that Daubs was southbound on 35 when he left the road and attempted to re-enter. The vehicle a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, rolled end to end and landed on its roof. Daubs was partially ejected, the vehicle landing on top of him. Deputies tentatively blamed speed and alcohol. Both Highway 35 and the adjacent Burlington Northern railroad mainline were blocked.
