WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man was booked for drunken driving after his car crashed into a vehicle in parking lot in the 800 block of West King Street. A witness had called police, who found Gabriel John Penic, 20, still at the scene. He smelled of alcohol and showed signs of impairment, police said. His blood-alcohol level tested at 0.20% — 2-1/2 times what the law defines as impaired. Penic was unhurt in the crash, police said. The struck car was parked and unoccupied. This was about 1:25 a.m.
