WINONA, Minn. – A woman fell asleep in the drive-through lane at the downtown McDonald’s. Awakened by an attendant, the woman drove out onto Main Street in front of McDonald’s, parked, and fell asleep again. This time the police were summoned. It turned out, police said, that Kesala Ann Morrell, 50, of Winona, was drunk. Her blood was running 0.33% alcohol— quadruple the legal impairment threshold Morrell was taken to jail. This was all about 10:30 a.m., just as the breakfast menu was shutting down.
