MINNEAPOLIS – A northeast-moving storm from Iowa spawned eight tornadoes in south-central Minnesota just after sundown. No damage was reported. From National Weather Service radar-tracking and local spotters these were the tornadoes:

> 7:25 p.m.: Two west of Owatonna, moving toward Medford.

> 7:45: Two tornadoes east of Morristown, one of which touched down.

> 8:01: One northeast of Henderson on Highway 14.

> 8:21:  One southwest of Dundas. Trees downed.

> 8:27: One southeast of Elko New Market near Webster.

> 8:42: One east of Elko.

None were nearer the Mississippi River than 40 miles at Red Wing’s 44-degree latitude.
