ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison warned consumers of imposter scams targeting people following the recent data breach UnitedHealth Group subsidiary Change Healthcare. With personal data from the breach, scammers are calling and asking for credit card numbers to straighten out supposed iregularities, Ellison said. “If you receive a call like this, do not provide any information,” he said. “Instead, hang up, then dial your medical provider yourself to determine whether they actually need your payment information.” He called the scammers sophisticated, experienced and persuasive. “Be on your guard.”
