LACROSSE, Wis. – A LaCrosse man was charged with being a marijuana salesman. Michael A. Goodwin, 43, was arrested at his house at 512 Liberty Street after police showed up with a warrant for burglaries in LaCrosse and Trempealeau counties. They were looking for burgled goods but found baggies of marijuana wrapped for sale. Goodwin wasn’t home at the time, but contacted by phone, he came back a short time later. The cops asked: What about the stolen handgun from Iowa that we just found in your place? Goodwin said he didn’t know the gun was stolen. What about the fact you’ve been forbidden as a convicted felon to have a gun? Yes, he admitted. Goodwin also admitted, police said, that the marijuana was his — 49.9 grams sealed in 19 ready-to-sell packets. Goodwin was charged felony charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and felon in possession of a firearm.
