BUFFALO, Minn. – The former sheriff of Hennepin County and current Minnesota gubernatorial candidate, Rich Stanek, was injured in a collision after a campaign event. Police described Stanek’s injuries as non-life threatening, He was expected to be hospitalized a couple days. Stanek, 60, was pulling out of a church parking lot onto Highway 25 about 8:30 p.m. when he collided with a sedan. The other driver also suffered non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol said alcohol wasn’t a factor. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the Patrol said.
