WINONA, Minn – City Council member Pam Eyden said she’s prepared to propose a city-wide masking requirement to put down the worsening CoVid pandemic. In August the Council voted 4-3 against masking, which means Eyden would need to convince Michelle Alexander, George Borzyskowski Aaron Repinski and Steve Young to change their positions. Eyden pointed to a mounting infections – shooting from a pandemic total of 9,000 two weeks ago to 10,000-plus  She noted too that Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Rochester have gone to mandatory masking this month. Eyden represents the Third Ward in central Winona.

Eyden: “There are only a few places in town I go that I see that people are really wearing masks. We would have an immediate impact on our sickness level if we did have a mask mandate.”
