ROCHESTER, Minn. – Smoke detectors alerted a sleeping family of four to flee their burning house about 12:40 a.m. The house, at Weston Place Southwest, was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. To fight the fire, crews evacuated two neighboring houses. Even so, high wind fanned fames and caused siding to bend ad warp. The house where the fire originated lost its roof. There was significant damage to the structure of the main floor. The basement suffered water damage.
