GENOA, Minn. – A Kellogg motorcyclist was killed and his passenger critically burned in a fiery crash northwest of Rochester. No one saw the accident occur, but a passing motorist saw smoke and stopped and pulled the vehicle off the woman who had been the passenger. Killed was Kurtis Zomok, 33. His passenger, Cassandra Carter, 37, of Millville, was transported to a Rochester hospital and then moved to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for burns. She was in critical condition. The accident was on 75th Street Northwest just east of Genoa a little after 12 noon. Deputies said skid marks indicated that Zomik was traveling east and skidded into the westbound lane at a curve and then slid on its side into a sign and burst into flames. Neither Zomok nor Carter were wearing helmets, deputies said.
