DURAND, Wis. – A mail truck and pickup truck exploded in flames after colliding on State Highway 25 northwest of Durand. The pickup driver, Levi Hayden, 25, of Mondovi, survived only because a passerby pulled him from the wreckage just in time, deputies said. Hayen was airlited 25 miles to an Eau Claire hospital in critical condition, then transferred to a Level 1 trauma center in Rochester.  The collision was about 8:25 a.m. near the Durand Rod and Gun Club. The mail truck, driven Eric Rubenzer, 35, of Chippewa Falls, was heading south when it crossed into the northbound lane and hit Hayden’s pickup truck head-on, deputies said. The pickup truck caught on fire. When first-responders arrived, both vehicles were completely ablaze. Rubenzer was taken to a hospital Eau Claire hospital with serious injuries
