GALESVILLE, Wis. – The owner of a landmark auto-repair business that was destroyed by fire last weekend said he is having a hard time processing what happened. “Now I know how some of these people feel when they have a tragedy,” said Jeff Paulus, whose tow trucks have come to customer’s aid for 45 years. In a WKBT interview he said: “it’s definitely hard to take.” Not much is left of Jeff’s Service on the sideroad to the Galesville junior high school. It’s only burned-out steel sheds with the flame-savaged hulks of trucks and cars recovered from inside and never to be driven again. The damage estimate: $1.5 million. What next? Paulus hopes to rebuild business. His thoughts about retiring and selling have been dashed.
