ALTURA, Minn. – Fire destroyed an old dairy barn that had been converted into a workshop two miles south of town. There were no livestock in the building except for two barn cats, which escaped. The fire, at 19000 County Road 33, was discovered about 10:30 a.m. The structure was a total loss, including a scorched silo that remained standing. Volunteer firefighters from firefighters from Altura, Lewiston and Rolling Stone responded.
