ETTRICK, Wis – Fire destroyed the Supply Technologies building in a blaze whipped by strong winds. Freezing temperatures hindered firefighters. Ettrick volunteers were summoned about 5:30 p.m. to a small fire. By 6 p.m. the structure was engulfed in flames. By 7:30 they called in a bulldozer to scrape down the smoldering remnants. No one was injured. Firefighters converged from Arcadia, Blair, Galesville, Trempealeau and Whitehall to assist the Ettrick volunteers.

The Sales Barn

The building, one of the largest in Ettrick, was known locally as the Sales Barn.  It was built 60 years ago for livestock trading.  Its main tenant in recent years was Supply Technologies, which had two full-time and 30 part-time employees. The company plasti-packaged nuts and bolts to go inside Ashley home-assembly furniture packages.. Another tenant, Blood Mary, which produeed Remedy brand spicy tomato mix for cocktails. Damaged was a cattle collection yard owned by Equity Livestock of Arlington, Wisconsin.
