COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Police asked people to lock their doors and stay inside while they hunted for an armed man who punched a Minnesota State trooper. Saint John’s University went into lockdown. The man had been stopped on Interstate 94 for erratic driving.  He punched the trooper, then sped off. After all four tires on his car were deflated by spike strips, the man fled on foot. In the meantime, the trooper said he saw him lower a window and stretch out his arm with something black in his hand, possibly a firearm. The trooper suffered several jaw fractures when punched. He required surgery.
