AUSTIN, Minn. – A Stewartville man accused of threatening “suicide by cop” was sentenced to three years probation.The charge was making terroristic threats, to which he pleaded guilty. Police said that Leonard LeRoy Thielen Jr., 58, had threatened to kill himself or force police to shoot him in a June 17 confrontation in in Pine Lawn Park east of Grand Meadow. Thielen suirrendered after an hour. The confrontation began with police repsonding to a complaint that Thielen was violating a judge’s no-contact order.
